Great timing Steve.  I just stopped by Al's and was asking him about the #.  He told me that there was also a 6 cyl truck engine that was 292 CI.  He also said that a 283 CI board out 30 over became a 292 CI, which I didn't confirm, but am thinking that's where he came up with the #292.
