We were friends since 6th grade. Probably had a little to do with him catching the racing bug, having the shop down the street from the track sure didn't hurt either. One night at Flemington it rained and they were calling everyone out to track pack, so I asked him if he wanted to take my car out. My dad pulled up alongside him, figured out who it was and saw he had his shield open. Pulled up in front of him and gave him a mud shower! He came in with mud all over his glasses, lol. The following year he was Rookie champ.
