Thought I'd take advantage of today's good weather (50+ & sunshine) and get the trailer loaded for Daytona. So I'm steering the car up the ramp and the winch stops, so I walk up to where the winch is and I see winch cables smoking.  Long story short, upon disassembly I discover corrosion and loose screws in the controller. I cleaned it up and tightened up the screws, now the winch operates properly. However when the burnt cables touch anything the sparks fly. So I'll need to replace those.  In conclusion, the moral to this is to check your winch relays and connections and not take them for granted like I have.
