Back in the good old days, I would have to wait on the road for Flemington to open the gates! Get my 4th turn seat, and then wander around watching everything opening. Maybe go over to the sign in gate and watch cars and drivers come in. Cross back in time for the warmups, the familiar smells of  every kind. Food, fuel etc.Then watch the night unfold before me. Great times,great memories-forever. Only those who were there understand!!
