Tri-County Speedway; Hudson, NC SMART modifieds brought 19 cars to go 99 laps. Tickets were $20, $18 for seniors. I asked what a senior citizen was considered to be. The girl said she never asks. I said I'm a senior. I'm 58. My wife is 53 and she charged us both senior price. Very nice. The sign said no coolers. I had a small soft sided cooler holding 2 beers and a Pepsi. I asked the girl taking tickets if I had to bring the cooler back to my car. The girl said she didn't see a cooler and waved us by. Excellent staff! My wife got a fried baloney sandwich and a giant dill pickle. She enjoyed both. The modifeds ran first. 4pm start time and they went green around 4:05. We stayed for the FWD class (11 cars) and the vintage class (6 cars) We left with two classes remaining. Left the house at 3:00 and we were home at 7pm. No complaints there! The facility is spotless. Everything looked freshly painted. I still say they have the prettiest parking lot in racing. Gravel, grass and giant trees everywhere. It reminds me of a county park or something. The only complaint I can think of is the infield is so cluttered you lose the field when they exit turn 2 and much of the view of the backstretch is blocked by the massive haulers. One of the nicest short tracks in the South. I don't know how their regular shows are, but I would recommend a visit to Tri-County Speedway.
