Well, it was 1970 and we, that is Ray Neary, Wally Marks and me, were heading to Five Mile Point Speedway in our 1952 Ford ramp truck with the #21 racecar on the back. We had built a storage platform over the cab. It was a very windy day and the road had quite a few pot holes. We had a Styrofoam cooler in the platform over the cab with some beer and soda. Well we hit a big pot hole and the cooler broke and knocked over the gear lube can and the next thing I know we had gear lube and water all over the windshield. Needless to say, after we cleaned the windshield, we had to drink the beer. We did make it to the speedway. Fred Menschner.
