I never knew Pete but I knew little Joe well. One year at Syracuse we pulled a rocker stud boss out of a head in morning practice the day of the race. We changed the head on pit road. Joe Lawrence happened to be walking by and saw us thrashing. He jumped right in and helped us get it done in time to start the race. Rest in peace Pete
