If you were wondering what was going on in South Jersey yesterday. Supposedly, around 30,000 people showed up at Bridgeport Speedway yesterday. 

From NJ.com " Residents across South Jersey and as far away as Delaware received an “immediate dispersal alert” on their cell phones after a chaotic scene unfolded inside and outside Bridgeport Motorsports Park in Logan on Sunday.

The alert was canceled several hours later once massive traffic jams eased following what the speedway calendar listed as an import expo and a car and music fest. Many of the posts on Social Media about what was going on, on the facility grounds was not true. 

Again, I do not want to make excuses. This post is to APOLOGIZE and promise we will be better at what we do because of this. I want to thank everyone at Logan Township for their help with this matter. They were great to work with as they always are and very helpful in helping us resolve the already bad situation without making it any worse"

This sounds like when Pocono had a big Rock festival sometime around the time it opened- maybe 1970.  I 80 wasn't done yet and the traffic on Rt. 46 from the Delaware Water Gap through to Netcong or so was bumper to bumper and crawling.  Lots of hippies.  My family sat in the A&P Parking lot on lawn chairs along 46 outside of Belvidere watching the spectacle.   Different times and there wasn't a lot to do then in Belvidere then (come to think of it, not much has changed).
