Chevy's been the dominant engine on short tracks ever since the demise of the flathead Ford due to speedways allowing overhead value engines.  My buddy, Phil Speno, is a diehard Ford guy. He always had a Ford in his early 70s limited sportsmans.  I know there are several obvious choices for owners (or owner/drivers) that only NEVER used Chevy power.  So 3Widers, can you name any loyal  owner or owner/driver whose limited sportsman, sportsman, or modified was always powered by a Non Chevy motor? Scott Ely

Brennan was always loyal to Chrysler/Plymouth. He had a 318 cu in Plymouth V8in his Sportsman when he first started racing. 318 was the engine limit at that time in thexL8mited Sportsman division.

ALWAYS powered by a Non-Chevy? Ya got me stumped! I got a "close but no cigar" however. Ed Cloce had the #69 Hemi-Cuda, Hemi-Colt, and Hemi Supermodifieds in the '60's and '70's with Jean-Guy Chartrand. By the mid-80's, he switched to Chevy's with drivers Jerry Cook, The Reg, Brian Ross, his son Tommy, among others. But I'm saying his bones were made with the Hemi's.

The Kremers were Ford loyalists. I only think toward the end they switched the 77 to Chevy power. Casey Luna Ford Sprint Car won a WoO title.

Central PA sprint car #77 sponsored by "Fette Ford". Frankie Kerr, amongst others, drove it at Selinsgrove. Might have been powered by a Big Block 427 Ford which were legal until the late 80's? I don't recall the owners name.

John...Bobby told me a long time ago that they ran his 427 Chevy in Albert's car for a partial season. I don't remember what the reason was behind it though.
