Thanks for posting that Bobby.  Barry Schenck always had nice looking cars.  As pictured there, the color was Ford Maverick "Grabber Blue."  I always liked the color and the chrome looking #'s.

Al never really got the handle on "the newer stuff", having stepped way from the sport after 1977, and then trying to step back in around 1986'or so.  Barry was keeping the cars at Al's, and Al drove some during I '86(?), and '86(?) seasons, but it was a different feel than what he was used to.  I remember he told me that the first time he drove the #A car in modified warm ups at Flemington, he took the green and almost hit the inside boards going into turn one as it was the first car that he ever drove that when he turned left, it actually went left.  His self owned/built cars back in the 70's were pretty heavy and he usually ran tires that others had given up on, so that's one reason why you never saw him on the low side of anybody!

After this car, Barry kept the car at Al's and that's where we worked on it,  Danny Klockner became the driver for Bridgeport and Flemington on some nights (88 - 89?).  Then for the 1990 season, Barry's son Billy took the wheel, first in the Flemington Rookie division (finished 2nd in Rookie points to Sammy Martz), and then ran in the Sportsman division for the balance of the year.

With Flemington being paved at the end of the 1990 season, Billy drove the #A at East Windsor for the next few seasons.  Billy never won a Sportsman or Modified feature event at Flemington (won 2 Rookie Features) or East Windsor, but we had a few good runs and it will always be one of the favorite times of my life.
