The truck is a 1990 Sport, which was the sibling truck to the 454 SS.  I bought it a few years ago with the thought that the trucks would go up in price and yes, they have skyrocketed lately.  It is astonishing what they are getting in the market these days. It has a Garnet Red interior and a few other appointments like the 454s. 
On the whole, it is going to be a pretty good project truck.

The flame thing was on the car when he bought it.  It was attached to the cowl of the radiator.  It's a bit kitschy for my taste but I thought it was a cool tchotchke so I plan to hang it on the wall somewhere.  

The motor in the green car has a racing history.  It has the 283 CU motor that ran in my brother's 1957 Chevy Street Stock that he drove at the Nazareth small track in 1975.  My father had it after all these years and pulled it out, rebuilt it, and placed it in the car.  He thought that it was a good power plant for the size of the car as there isn't too much to it.
