I probably should try to make it to Bridgeport this Saturday.  (Still have my wristband from an earlier USAC show that got cancelled that I think they said it could be used on/toward any other night.)

Next weekend, I plan on going to the Pumpkin Run (Saturday Nov 4th).

After that, I think I'm done for the year unless there's a Swap Meet or something to maybe go to.

With all the rain outs here in NJ, I can't remember the last time I was actually at a race, (it's been over a month - maybe more) and that never happened in years past.

Will also check out the replay section of Flo to see if there's anything that I wanted to see that I might have missed.  I really like watching the NARC Sprint car series in California/and north, but compared to last year, there were hardly any NARC broadcasts on Flo this year.  (Tracks like Tulare, Chico, Hanford, Ocean, Ventura, etc.)

I don't think I'm alone here when I say that after watching (on Flo) a USAC Midget event... or Sprints... or Lucas Late Models... I find it really difficult to watch any Nascar broadcast (even with being able to fast forward thanks to the DVR) without feeling like, "What am I watching?" and "What am I listening to?"

Not only don't I see the same level of car control watching Cup, Xfinity, Trucks, as I do at a local short track/most events on Flo, but for 90% of the time, there's really not a whole lot going on.... And then when you add the broadcast coverage... With the deep voice guy (aka Captain Obvious) telling you over and over again exactly what you are looking at as if your TV's picture stopped working (somebody please tell him it's not radio...)  And with the others in the booth often starting sentences with "Like I said before"... you kind of feel like you've already seen the movie over and over again.  Add in how often the best blocker ends up winning, along with the lack of any penalties ever being issued when one driver takes out another in an attempt to pass them, and I often am wondering, "Why do I keep tuning in?" and "What is it that I'm expecting to see different this next time?"
