Starting in 1975 for me at The Port, I wanted to see local racers that I personally knew at the track. Hearing the cars warming up from across the track and anticipating who was going to run well. Pulling for Dave Stanton, Sam Gangemi, Mike Kostic, George Driver in his #1 sportsman, etc. Seeing the first cars to hit the track. Usually a sportsman car. Enjoying the different creations in builds. The sound of open headers howling.... Dreaming about someday doing it. I did it and moved on.
