More on the #39:  https://3widespicturevault.com/Vintage_Pics&Vitals/09.13.03_039_NEA_FLM_2003_1.htm

It's not an original, but one thing that is unique about the car is that it was lettered by Tom Baches, the same person who lettered all of the original Piscopo #39, (and the George Taylor #93, and the Carberry #47, and the Menschner #21... and many other great looking cars from the Morristown PA/Trenton NJ area from the 60's and 70's.)

When Ray Neary aquired the car, and "rebuilt/reworked" the car to make it more like a 36 Chevy, he also made sure to respect the lettering, and match it where it had faded/other to protect the originality of the lettering, which to me, makes the "personality" for the car.

We lost Ray a few years ago, and we'll always remember and respect him as a winning driver back in the day, and the efforts he made in later years to preserve the history of the sport including the work he did to make the #39 a car that helps us remember the original Piscopo #39, and also with his restoration of the Wally Marks "Gremlin'like" #1.
