New Egypt Speedway status   

As I've said before on this site, I was not pleased when Rick turning NES backover to Fred.  BUT, I was pleasantly surprised by all aspects (the field, the track, the crowd) of the SDS show.  I now am of the opinion that Fred Vahsing is a racer, loves the sport of racing, and is good for the sport of racing!   I've never been involved in a race track but I can only imagine that "its a labor of love".  I'll bet few promotors and/or owners make their living off a Saturday night track.  We can't afford to lose any more tracks.  I'm not saying he is, but if it takes Fred being a little like Windsor's Don Jones, I'm all for it.  Windsor wouldn't have made it out of the 90s if it was for the Jones family.  Scott Ely
