Years ago when Pocono had a June and July Cup race they drew massive crowds for both. I was usually at both. I remember reading a long time ago that the Pocono races drew different people for both events. Someone at the track said the advance ticket buyers who went every year often picked one and stayed with it year after year.
We live less than 10 miles from Lake Norman, less than 30 minutes from Hickory Speedway and about 40 minutes from Charlotte Motor Speedway and it is RARE to see someone wearing any NASCAR apparel unless we are at a race. Just like it is rare to see a vehicle on the road here with any NASCAR decals. We have to go shopping this weekend. I'll keep an eye out and get back to ya if i see anyone wearing a NASCAR shirt or hat, but NASCAR isn't big here in NASCAR Country.
