There is a video of the crash on YouTube showing the window net coming out of the car and the roof hatch being pulled off. Carbon fiber didn't work well as a roof . This was the first flip of this nexgen car so I am sure more changes are coming.  They are also looking at the smooth bottom of the frame as it just acts like a wing, stick your hand out the car window and see what happens. More changes and we will be back to the old car, which seemed a whole lot safer than this new and improved version . I talked to Red the day after that flip at Daytona. He was on crutches and told me he was messing with the staff at the hospital. They couldn't find his knee cap on the X-ray, he never told them he had it removed years before. I have a great picture of that car in my office it is like it went through a compactor. Both guys very lucky for sure. I remember Troyer doing the same thing twice , once at Daytona and once at Pocono in a modified, how we didn't loose more guys over the years still amazes me.
