This is odd, but over the years I have been at Wall, I know a lot of young guys who start racing. They move up a division or two, than find it getting too expensive to race. Most of these guys, and not saying it in a bad way , are the field fillers. Their priorities change, they get married, a family, and a mortage. They quit.  Which in reality is the right thing to do, so you really lose the "eye candy" of a 22 car field. I go to some tracks and see what these guys spend on cars and trailers etc. and than see and how they live and I respect the guys more and more who quit and get their priorities in order. I don't want this to sound pretencious, but it is reality.

I learned a while ago that the 22 car field is in the rear view mirror for asphalt. You really only need 12 cars or so, because most races end up with 12 cars or so. Less cautions, more racing. (We hope). Most races only come down to four cars and usually one or two can win on a given night.
